BTEC Performing Arts
Why Study BTEC Performing Arts?
Performing Arts is a valuable and enriching way to develop core social and professional skills through practical exploration of real-world issues. The course is designed to stretch and challenge students in their chosen pathway, offering specialist support and advise to prepare performers for the next stage in their careers. In addition, students benefit from the opportunity to enhance wider skills which are transferrable to many careers.
Two Core Units
Skills for Live Performance – Through this unit, students will explore the role of the performer while developing skills which pertain to their chosen pathway.
Group Performance Workshop – In this final unit, students create and develop an original piece while considering the wider elements of theatre-making such as marketing for your intended audience and constraints of copyright and licensing.
Three Optional Units
Dependent on your chosen pathway, you will complete 3 additional units to complete your Extended Certificate. This allows flexibility within the course to cater units to your interests and aspirations. Optional units can be discussed at interview.

Entry Requirements
You will need a 5 in English, plus the statutory requirements for sixth form entry.
