Extra curricular activities are at the heart of St Edward’s.

Extra curricular activities are at the heart of St Edward’s. Throughout their education, students of all abilities are encouraged to participate in activities ranging from sports clubs and fixtures, musical groups, outdoor and adventurous activities, games clubs, peer mentoring and paired reading, subject clubs, writing and creative competitions, The Duke of Edinburgh Award, Young Enterprise and talent competitions. Activities take place at lunchtimes, after school and at weekends.

Additionally, the school runs a wide range of trips and visits to support students’ holistic development. Visits include: the Battlefields, Berlin, theatre visits, professional sports fixtures, sports tours, expeditions to Cambodia, Geography trips to Iceland, French and German exchanges and music tours.

The music department has a thriving timetable of extra curricular activities for students to engage with including orchestra, jazz band, choir, boys’ choir and electric ensemble. There is also an annual musical production, battle of the bands and Christmas concert as well as the opportunity to perform at Poole School’s Music Association Christmas concert at the Poole Lighthouse.
