St. Edward’s is a joint Roman Catholic - Church of England VA 11-18 all ability school. The school is voluntary aided and supported by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Plymouth and the Anglican Diocese of Salisbury. We are a Humanities Specialist School.  Our Mission Statement defines our core values and aims. A Covenant signed by the Bishops of both our Dioceses describes how we aim to function as a joint church school. St. Edward’s is an ideal size for a comprehensive school with 1084 students on roll including our sixth formers.

Mission Statement
"Jesus says – Where people come together in my name, I am with them" Matthew 18:20 As a Christian learning community, which promotes the value of family life, we support the parents as primary educators of their children.

We challenge every student to strive for the highest standard of personal, social and intellectual development, and aim for excellence in all they do.  We recognise that all children are unique and aim to guide them along their personal Journey of Faith.  During the day to day life of our school and in all aspects of the curriculum we promote Gospel values.  We provide opportunities for every member of our community to experience prayer, worship and reflection.

"My commandment is this – Love one another just as I love you" John 15:12
